No Shit?

2 girls, 1 CupEvery once in awhile, something comes along and steals our attention away from what we are otherwise focused on.   In most cases, and as of late, we have the world wide web to blame.  Viral videos are all the rage in this age of the Internet.  Recently a video surfaced that was unlike any other we had ever seen, or would have dared to see.  This video was known simply as 2 girls, 1 cup.

Let me take a second to advise you that if you are unaware of the video that I’m speaking of… seek it out only if you care to waste valuable time.  Time that you will never ever get back.  I’ll explain more about the waste of valuable time later.

This video, was so damn disgusting that it became a goal of those who had been sucked in, to gather as many friends as possible and ask them to “just watch”.  “See how long you can last” must have fallen from my mouth over 100 times over the span of a few weeks.  I mean how difficult could it be to stare intently at the monitor for 90 seconds.  But back then, trust me… it took everything you had to get through that 90 seconds.

The phenomenon grew so quickly, that before long, “reaction” videos began cropping up everywhere.  Hell… even Kermit the Frog had a video emerge that gave us a very personal look at what our little green friend finds amusing on the Internet.

Unfortunately, in the past week, via a radio interview I was informed that the video was a fake.  Joe Rogan, a man who has made a living on things that are gross, spilled the beans… and didn’t give a crap… and as our jaws dropped as we finally heard the truth,  Joe summed it up with a simple, “no shit”.  That’s right… no shit… as a matter of fact, it wasn’t even close to shit, but rather chocolate soft serve.  Some of my friends that day tried to validate their time spent watching the video by visualizing what it actually took to accomplish the feat of 2 girls, 1 cup, all I could think of was… what a waste of my freaking time!  The time I spent watching and asking myself, “why”?  The time I spent recruiting others who I wanted to scar for life, because after all, misery loves company.  The time I spent tracking down even more hilarious “reaction videos”.  And of course now, the time a spent writing this entry.
